Poster: Towards Blockchain Transaction Privacy

چکیده

Blockchains allow users to transfer money securely to possibly unknown and untrusted counterparties, without requiring a trusted intermediary. Transactions contain the value being transferred, and sender and recipient identifiers (known as addresses) in the clear, meaning that although onchain addresses are unlinked from off-chain identities, monetary movements are easily traceable. We explore methods offering transaction privacy, which include ring signatures, with which users can produce a signature that verifies against a set rather than an individual public key, and combine with stealth addresses. We construct a scheme that is compatible with current blockchain platforms, but unlinks sender and recipient address pairs in a way that payee addresses are unknown even to the payer of the transaction in question.

Poster: Mixing Confidential Transactions: Comprehensive Transaction Privacy for Bitcoin

The public nature of the blockchain has been shown to be a severe threat for the privacy of Bitcoin users. Even worse, since funds can be tracked and tainted, no two coins are equal, and fungibility, a fundamental property required in every currency, is at risk. With these threats in mind, several privacyenhancing technologies have been proposed to make Bitcoin more private. However, they eithe...

The Transaction Graph for Modeling Blockchain Semantics

The advent of Bitcoin paved the way for a plethora of blockchain systems supporting diverse applications beyond cryptocurrencies. Although in-depth studies of the protocols, security, and privacy of blockchains are available, there is no formal model of the transaction semantics that a blockchain is supposed to guarantee. In this work, we fill this gap, motivated by the observation that the sem...

Strong Federations: An Interoperable Blockchain Solution to Centralized Third Party Risks

Bitcoin, the first peer-to-peer electronic cash system, opened the door to permissionless, private, and trustless transactions.
